Obituary

Marilyn June Oberle was born in Dale township June 12, 1932, the daughter of Reuben M. Muller and Amy E. (Erickson) Muller. In her youth she began her education at Green Hill rural school and completed her education at Windom High School in the class of 1950. For 9 years, she worked at the Dairy Queen prior to her marriage. On March 24, 1961, Marilyn and Jack L. Oberle were married at the Presbyterian Church in Windom. To this union, a daughter, Connie, was born. Marilyn's entire life has been lived in the Windom and Jeffers area. Following her marriage, she sold Avon and for many years, she wrote news for the Storden Jeffers Times Review newspapers. Marilyn accepted Christ at Bible school at Green Hill and was a faithful member of the Jeffers Baptist Church for many years. She served the church in many ways including teaching Sunday school and Bible school. As a member of their community, she was active in the West Side Club and the former Hoe and Hope Garden Club. She was fond of word search puzzles. Following the death of her husband, Jack, on December 23, 2009, Marilyn continued to live in her home until April 2018 when she went to Mikkelson Manor and then Sogge Memorial in September of 2019. Her family includes her daughter Connie Oberle and fiancé Dennis "Ace" Hansen of Jeffers; 3 step grandchildren, Darin (Rita) Hansen of Sioux Falls, Andrew Hansen (Olivia Bittner) of Jeffers, and Cassidy Hansen of Olivia; also surviving is a brother, David (Beatty) Muller and sister-in-law Delores Muller, all of Windom. Preceding her in death, besides her parents and husband, Jack, are 2 brothers, Warren (Bernice) Muller, Richard Muller, and a nephew, Tim Muller; in-laws, Leslie and LaVerl Oberle.
