Our hearts are full of love as we celebrate the wonderful life of our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma, Marjorie Borer.
Marjorie Clarine Gunderson was born on July 3, 1931, in Kimball Township, Jackson County, Minnesota to Gunder and Elta (Schoen) Gunderson. She was Baptized and Confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bergen, Minnesota. She attended Jackson County School District #61 and Bergen School District #26. Marjorie graduated from Windom High School in 1949 and graduated from Mankato Commercial College in 1950.
On December 8, 1951 Marjorie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald Borer, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bergen, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two Daughters, Janet and Judi.
"Margy" worked at Wilson's in Albert Lea, Wiman Corporation in Windom, Windom State Bank from 1950 to 1957 and Southwest State Bank from 1966 to 1993.
Marjorie and Donald made their home on a farm south of Windom for many years as Marjorie helped manage the farm and also worked full time in Windom. She enjoyed helping and visiting with her many banking customers.
In 2012, Marjorie and Donald moved to Primrose Independent Living in Mankato. In 2015 they moved back to Windom, to Remick Ridge Estates, where they celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary together. Marjorie moved to Pine View Assisted Living in Windom when Donald moved to his Heavenly Home. One year later, Marjorie moved to Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Society, Windom, until passing away on Monday morning, September 14, 2020 with her family by her side, at the age of 89.
Marjorie was a member of the American Lutheran Church where she actively served for many years. She was so happy to enjoy her Daughters, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren's lives and love. Earlier in life she enjoyed riding in their pontoon around Fish Lake with her family. Marjorie also enjoyed sewing and knitting, playing Bingo, Skipbo and doing Word Find Puzzles. Her beautiful smile was contagious as her eyes lit up from her heart of gold.
Marjorie was a loving and supportive wife and we were so blessed to have such a committed and loving Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. Her kindness and love was unwavering and always overflowing. We cherish our many beautiful memories with God's blessing allowing us to share her life.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald.
Marjorie is survived by her two Daughters, Janet (Kevin) Donahue of Windom, MN and Judi Polzin of Fairmont, MN (Special Friend, Bryan Simmering of Northrop, MN); four Grandchildren and ten Great-Grandchildren.
