Mark Douglas Peterson was born on December 30, 1952, in Marshall, Minnesota to the late Arvil and Clarice (Miller) Peterson. He received his education in the Windom Public Schools; graduating in the Class of 1972. He then furthered his education at Worthington and Mankato. Mark was united in marriage to Jan Anderson and later this marriage was dissolved. This marriage was blessed with three children, Naomi, Nick and Jared. After marriage, Mark and Jan owned Uptown Expressway in Windom before moving to Rochester. They later moved back to Windom and Mark managed the Pizza Barn. He then started Mark Peterson Painting, for over twenty years, until the present time. Recently, Mark became suddenly sick at his home and was airlifted to the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the age of 66 years. Mark was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom. He enjoyed cooking, socializing and will be remembered as a hard worker who loved his family. Mark is survived by his three children, Naomi Peterson of Fairmont; Nick (Shantel) Peterson of Windom; Jared Peterson of Windom; grandchildren, Ethan and Jaelynn Peterson of Windom; six siblings, Sharon Moody of Butterfield; Junior Peterson and his wife, Kay, of Windom; Wayne Peterson and his wife, Sharon, of Rochester; Connie Lubben of Windom; Pamela Johnson and her husband, Jan, of Windom; Vicki Wiens of Windom; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
