Mark
Medill
Nov 25, 1961 — Jun 22, 2026
UPDATED LOCATION:
Mark passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by family, on June 22, 2026. He was born in Casper, WY, on November 25, 1961, the third of five children. He is preceded in death by his dad, Harold (Pete) Medill, and his little brother Travis. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Robin; his two sons, Matthew Medill (his wife, Rachel, and sons Ethan George and the soon-to-arrive baby Conner Mark) and Brody Medill; and his son, Rhys Claude. His Mother, Ethel (Susie), his sisters, Paula Burgett, Terry
Lightburn, and Jana Whitaker, numerous cousins, and friends.
Mark was a loving husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend. He was kind, caring, and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His friends knew him as a prankster, a talented and careful craftsman, and a hard worker. He loved to read and was famously curious about everything. One of his favorite books was The Good Earth; its message meant a lot to him because he understood the struggles and joys of working the land.
He grew up on a large working ranch, worked the coal mines as a young man, farmed, and, along with his long career in the trucking industry, he raised his family and established a legacy. We will deeply miss his smile, his teasing, his curiosity, and most importantly, his loving spirit, but his impact and memory live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.
Typical of him, he wanted no fuss at his funeral. A cowboy wake will be held at his home, to remember, tell a few stories, and celebrate a life well lived. July 18, 2026 @ 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall at 411 1st Street, Jackson, Minnesota.
A final memorial and internment will be held at Rye Brookside Cemetery, Rye, Colorado, on Saturday, September 5, 2026 @ 11:00 am.
