Mark Richardson, 70, of Windom died Dec. 27, 2022, at his home in Windom.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 10:30 a.m., at Windom Evangelical Free Church in Windom with Pastor Jon Greener officiating. Military honors will be held outside the church immediately following the service. Visitation will be held at the church in Windom for one hour prior to the service.

Mark Allen Richardson was born Sept. 29, 1952, to Eugene and Norma (Esau) Richardson in Comfrey. He was confirmed at First United Methodist Church in Windom.

Mark attended elementary school in Windom and high school in St. James. After high school, he earned a degree in environmental controls from the Vo-Tech in Mankato before serving in the U.S. Air Force.

On Jan. 21, 1978, Mark married Mary Schoeneman in Sioux Falls. They were blessed with two daughters, Michelle and Melissa. Mark worked in maintenance for Home for Creative Living and later as an assembler at Agco in Jackson, retiring from Agco in January 2021.

Mark enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years, woodworking and watching and feeding the birds and deer in his backyard. He also served as a greeter with his wife, Mary, at Windom Evangelical Free Church.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Henry and Winifred Schoeneman; and a sister, Kathleen Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Richardson of Windom; daughters, Michelle (Joe) Riihl and Melissa Richardson (fiance Kraig Nelson), all of Windom; and grandson, Tristan Riihl (Janessa Peters) of Rochester.
