Marti Jean (Ebsen) Gilbertson was born November 14, 1978 in Pipestone, Minnesota to Dean and Randi (Larson) Ebsen. She received her education in Pipestone Public Schools, graduating in the class of 1997. After graduating, Marti attended Dakota State in Madison, SD, Riverland Community College in Austin, MN and SW Technical college in Pipestone, MN. Marti's education led her to careers in Nursing and Pharmaceutical Tech. She was currently employed at the Wabasso Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center where she performed many different tasks such as medication aid and office manager. On September 3, 2005 Marti married the love of her life Eric Gilbertson in Brookings, SD. This union blessed them with two beautiful children: Victoria and Verlyn. Marti was a first responder for the City of Storden. She was always concerned about helping people, and was very caring and nurturing. Marti taught herself how to crochet and she mastered the skill. She could crochet you a hat within 15 minutes, and her work was beautiful and amazing. Marti enjoyed making seasonal decorations. She was extremely crafty and artistic. Marti's greatest enjoyment and accomplishment were her children; Victoria and Verlyn. Marti was Victoria and Verlyn's #1 fan, and was supportive of her children's academics and sports. Marti was an avid reader, and you could find her reading any book by Steven King. On September 19,2020 Marti passed away unexpectedly at her home in Storden, Minnesota at the age of 41 years. Marti will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 15 years, Eric Gilbertson of Storden; two children, Victoria and Verlyn; parents, Dean (Carol Ann Douty) Ebsen and Randi Jean (Larry) Schumann; brother Clint (Sandra) Ebsen; father-in-law, Mark Gilbertson; mother-in-law, Nannette (Brian) Wandrey; nieces, Emma and Miya; nephews, Nolan and Jack; and many friends. Preceding Marti in death were her grandparents, Wayne and Elizabeth Ebsen and Elsie and Vince Larson and cousin, Adam Willaby.
