A Celebration of Life Service for Martin "Marty" Hanson, age 67, of Jeffers and Springfield, will be held on Thursday, April 2nd at 11:00 AM at the Jeffers United Methodist Church in Jeffers, with a time of visitation and gathering for one hour prior to the service, regardless of the weather conditions. The service will be livestreamed on the Jeffers United Methodist Church Facebook Page for those who are not able to attend.

On March 20, 2026, Martin "Marty" Hanson was called home.

He liked to tinker around the house; he could be seen screwing in a screw or hammering a nail. Marty was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hiking, boating, being at the lake and sitting around the bonfires with the family at our get togethers. After moving to Minnesota, he soon became a big Minnesota Viking fan.

Marty was born in Tacoma, Washington where he lived in many places before finding himself in Minnesota.

Marty is survived by his domestic partner, Marianne Mulvany; his children, Carla Nelson, Oregon; April (Robert) McGhee, Ohio; Corinne Hanson, Washington; grandchildren, Zacharius, Chassidy, Caden, Isiah, Jasmmine, Bailey, Oscar and Olin; great-grandkids, Amelia, Wynter and Charley; siblings Nadine, Jerry and Doreen. Many nephews, nieces and cousins and they referred to him as either uncle "Monkey" or their "funcle", and extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Helen; son, Nicky; brother, Wayne; sister, Wanda; brother-in-law Dan; son-in-law Matt; a niece and nephew.
