Maureen Jeanette Hendricksen was born to Marvin and Arlene (Baskerville) Krohn in Lake City, Iowa on November 29, 1945. She was baptized and later confirmed at Emanuel-St. John Lutheran Church in Lytton, Iowa. She attended elementary school in Lytton, Iowa, before moving with her family to Minnesota. She graduated from Sioux Valley High School.
Maureen was united in marriage to Merlyn Hendricksen on August 7, 1965, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with a son, Monte. Maureen loved motherhood and loved being a stay-at-home mom. Later Maureen began working a variety of jobs, she enjoyed her time at Farmer's State Bank, Blum Candy factory, doing bookwork at an insurance agency, and cleaning houses until her retirement in 2012.
Maureen was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving on the prayer chain committee and flower committee. She was active in the community delivering meals on wheels and sharing her passion for birds with other bird club members. She always saw the beauty of God's nature. Bird watching was one of her favorite past times, as well as painting and gardening.
Maureen Hendricksen passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield, Minnesota.
Maureen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Merlyn Hendricksen of Lakefield; son, Monte (Kathy) Hendricksen of Lakefield; three grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, and Nicholas Hendricksen; sisters, Karen (Curt) Slykhuis of Mitchell, SD, Connie (Robert) Untiedt of Lakefield; brother-in-law, Merle (Marleen) Henricksen of Lakefield; sister-in-law Karen (Lyle) Anderson of Forest Lake, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Arlene Krohn; brother, Alvin Krohn; parents-in-law, Leonard and Alma Hendricksen; and brother-in-law, Ron Schmillen.

A Celebration of Life Service for Maureen Hendricksen, age 78, of Lakefield, will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield with Pastor Andrew Schensted officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lakefield City Cemetery.
A time of visitation and gathering will be held prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield.
