Michael "Blue" Verle Lint was born on October 26, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Sherry Christine (Mitchell) and John Eldon Lint, both of Shellsburg, Iowa. Affectionately known as "Blue" for most of his life, he was a man whose adventurous spirit, colorful personality, and love for people left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Blue was a trained professional chef and a skilled clown, but the title he cherished most was "carny." At the age of 15, he worked his first carnival with Dale T. Thomas Carnival, beginning a journey that would shape the rest of his life. For nearly five decades, Blue traveled throughout the country and beyond, making lifelong friendships and creating countless memories along the midway. Forty-eight years after that first carnival, he worked his final season with Merriam's Midway Shows in Lisbon, North Dakota, in 2025.

The carnival community was more than a career to Blue—it was home. He often said, "My carnival family were my true family; they accepted me 100%." He held a special place in his heart for his carnival family, especially the late Bob (B-Bob) Jones, Rollie Lane, and the many showmen and friends he met throughout the years.

Blue was the father of four children, whom he loved deeply. In his own words, "I love you all. I tried my best." His children include Michael P. Lint of Oak Hill, Florida; Samuel B. Lint of Sioux Falls; Star M. Lint of Hartley, Iowa; and Mikhale B. Lint of Jackson, Minnesota. Blue was united in marriage to Kathy Bruns in 1977. The couple later divorced in 1979. He then married Andrea Berberich in 1984. He and Andrea separated and he began his relationship with Tamila Gossman where he raised his children and owned and operated the Blue Star Café in Arnold's Park through 2006. He then began his relationship with Amie Reynolds.

Michael "Blue" Verle Lint passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his home in Jackson, Minnesota, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 66 years old.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, John E. Lint; his children, Michael P. (Tammara) Lint, Samuel Lint, Star Lint, and Mikhale Lint; Mikhale's mother, Amie Reynolds; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Michael and his wife Mel and their daughter Maeve, Jake and his wife Malach, Isaiah, Karlee, and Lexi Provo; his brothers, Dan Mayfield and William Koningsmark of Iowa; his sisters, Melissa (William "Bear") Pruett-Middleton and DannaSue (Max) Pruett-Jones of Oklahoma; and many beloved nieces and nephews, including Anthony Haislip, Tyler Goodman, Mica Combs, Joseph Combs, Kelsey Skinner, Sara Dodd, Jason Nemcik, and Annissa Fox.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Mitchell-Ham; his brothers, David "Gig" Swenson and John W. Lint; and many cherished friends from the carnival community.

Blue will be remembered for his free spirit, his sense of humor, his resilience, and the friendships he built across a lifetime spent on the road. Whether working a midway, sharing stories, making people laugh, or simply being himself, Blue lived life on his own terms. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his carnival family, who were never far from his heart.
