Michael Welton was born on January 24, 1959 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Einer Madsen and Wynona Alice (Robinson) Welton. He was baptized at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom. Michael received his education in the Windom Public Schools. Michael served in the Marines almost 4 years when he was discharged. He then attended Brainerd Technical College from 1983-1985 where he received his Associate's Degree in Landscape Technology. Through the years, Michael lived in several places throughout Minnesota until returning to Windom around 15 years ago. He enjoyed his time back in Windom and last weekend fell and was placed in hospice care at the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom. He passed away there on Monday afternoon, August 27, 2018, at the age of 59 years . Michael is survived by his daughter, Samantha (Luke) Andersen of Surrey, ND; one grandchild, Morgan; two siblings, Jane (James) Polz of Windom; Todd Welton of Windom; two nephews, Lucas and Nathan Polz; special friends, David Moede, Don Kunesh, James Carey, Brian Rupp, Jeff Thompson, David Castledine and Larry Gravley. Michael is preceded in death by his parents. Blessed be the memory of Michael Welton.
