A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Neil Soehren, age 64, of Windom, will be held Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom with Pastor Paul Sajban officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.

Neil Soehren passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Windom Area Health in Windom.

Neil Walter Soehren was born on January 16, 1960, to Walter and Martha Alice (Brugman) Soehren, in Windom, Minnesota. He lived on the family farm in Christiania Township his entire life, except for the brief time he was away during college. Neil was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom.

Neil attended Windom Public Schools and graduated in 1978. He attended Worthington Community College before attending South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy. Neil loved farming the land, raising animals including hogs and beef cattle, and working in the shop alongside his brother Steve to fix or create whatever may be needed for farm work, including a self-propelled sprayer and a grain cart. He was an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hunting and fishing with his brothers and friends.

On Sunday, July 14, 2024, Neil was welcomed home to Heaven. He passed away peacefully at Windom Area Health in Windom, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Left to cherish his life and legacy are his siblings, David (Dianna) Soehren of Appleton, Steve Soehren of Windom, and Cindy (Murray) Smart of Beardsley; nieces and nephew, Heather (Jacob) Jerzak, Meghan (Cory) Ohman, and Rudy Smart; great nieces and nephew, EllaMae Ohman, Olivia Jerzak and Jared Jerzak; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Martha Soehren. Blessed be the memory of Neil Soehren.
