Obituary

Neleh Hash, age 19, of Lakefield, passed away unexpectedly from a Pulmonary Embolism on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at MHealth Fairview, University of Minnesota Medical Center-East Bank. Neleh Jean Hash was born on July 29, 2002, to Ronald and Jennifer (Beardsley) Hash, in Dickinson County, IA. Neleh was destined for great things. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart, and everyone she met loved her. She was caring, intelligent, and gorgeous. Neleh was extremely strong in every way and always knew how to make anyone laugh. Her quiet sense of humor would enter a conversation at the most unexpected times and leave all those around her laughing from her quick wit and one-liners. She attended Pleasantview Elementary and Jackson County Central High School, graduating with the Class of 2021. In school, Neleh was active in the Jazz Band, Golf, Key Club and was a member of the National Honor Society. She loved music, golf, and animals. Neleh was a freshman attending the University of Minnesota majoring in Nursing with the goal of being a Nurse Practitioner. Neleh was a great friend to everyone she knew. She was known for helping everyone, even if they didn't need it. She was employed at several nursing homes and enjoyed waitressing at Dudley's Garage. Neleh was becoming an avid Gopher football fan. She attended most home football games while in her first semester at college. Neleh loved all things Harry Potter. She loved the Chiefs, just like her dad. She loved attending live music concerts from her favorite artists. She loved being with her family and fishing trips with her Pop, uncles, and cousins. She enjoyed boat rides and being at the lake. She enjoyed arguing with her mother and always being right. She was not a morning person, didn't like chocolate, and she never missed a chance to trip over her own feet. A self-proclaimed "nerd," Neleh lacked athleticism but made up for it with her love of books and science. She loved her little sister more than anything and made sure her outfit and socks matched. Hannah had a built-in best friend and someone to always look up to. Neleh is survived by her parents, Ronald and Jennifer Hash of Lakefield, MN; her loving sister, Hannah; grandparents, Ruth and John (Jack) Beardsley of Lakefield, MN; Deborah and Robert Berven of Spencer, IA; and Daniel Engelstad of California; her beloved aunts and uncles, Maggie and Tim Fick and family of Luverne, MN; Jonathan and Renee Beardsley and family of Faribault, MN; Rochelle Gilmore and family of Laurens, IA; and Rebecca Patrick and family of Sioux Falls, SD; and many dear friends and family. God bless the memory of Neleh Jean Hash.
