A Celebration of Life service to honor the life and legacy of Nina M. Walterman, age 93, of Jackson, will be held at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 9 – 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.

Nina passed away on Friday, August 29th at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson.
Nina Mildred Chesley Walterman was born June 12, 1932, in Elm Creek Township, Martin County, MN to Ery and Luella Chesley. Nina graduated from Country School 8th grade.
Nina was united in marriage to William "Bill" Blom in 1950. This union was blessed with two children. In 1958, Bill suddenly passed away. Nina Chesley would later marry Leon Walterman in 1959, and this union was blessed with five children. She spent most of her life dedicated to caring and providing for her children as a homemaker and hard-working farm wife.
She thoroughly enjoyed her vegetable garden and always had a flock or two of chickens and ducks to help provide food for the table. As Leon worked to build their dairy farm, she worked hard to help make their dream come true as she managed a household of seven children.
One of Nina's favorite pastimes was doing needle work and creating images using Artex
paints. However, her favorite hobby by far was taking pictures. She used many different cameras and would take hundreds of pictures. If she attended an event, her camera was with her.
Nina is survived by her children, Robert (Betty) Blom of Madison, SD, Norma (Delmo) Bateman of Plainview, MN, George Walterman of Jackson, MN, LeeAnn (Jeff) Tweedt of Jackson, MN; twenty grandchildren, as well as many great & great-great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, June Chesley of Raymore, Missouri.
Nina is preceded in death by her children, Henry Allen Walterman, Patricia Ann Blom, Wayne Leon Walterman; her first husband William "Bill" Arthur Blom; second husband, Leon George Walterman; special friend, Alvin Stubbe; great-grandson, Brycen Jeffery Tweedt; parents, Ery and Luella Harback; siblings, Orville James, Blanche Luella, Ruby Laverne, Obert Leroy, James Dewitt, Ivadell Rachel, and Alvin Charles.
Nina will always be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help where she could.
