Obituary

Nydeen Loma Koob was born on January 16, 1943, in Windom, Minnesota to the late Christian and Verona Violet (Senst) Herbst, Jr. Nydeen received her education in the Storden Public School; graduating in the Class of 1961. She then furthered her education at the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis where she graduated as a legal secretary. On November 17, 1962, Nydeen was united in marriage to David Carl Koob in Iowa Falls, Iowa. This marriage was blessed with two children, Kelli and Erik. After marriage, Nydeen and David lived in Iowa and then Mankato before moving back to Jeffers where they continued living. Nydeen then worked in Jeffers at the hardware, café and then the liquor store before joining her husband in their own business, Dave's TV in Jeffers, which operated for twenty-three years until 2000 when she retired. After retiring, Nydeen and David continued to live in Jeffers and enjoyed several years together traveling. David passed away on February 1, 2010. After his death, Nydeen continued to live in Jeffers until recently when she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook where she passed away from cholangiocarcinoma on Wednesday morning, April 3, 2019 at the age of 76 years. Nydeen was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers. Nydeen had many interests in life which she enjoyed and included ceramics, painting, traveling, gardening, reading and history-especially Cottonwood County history. Nydeen is survived by her two children, Kelli Kristine Koob (Richard Stenstrom) of Minneapolis; Erik David Koob (Lisa Ellston) of Luverne; one sister, Wandalee Einertson (Gary) of Westbrook; four nieces, Lori (Devin) Nelson of New Ulm; Angela (Jerry) Hemmingsen of Westbrook; Tiffany (Lonnie) Ewy of Westbrook; Lindsay (Andy) Sabin of Marshall; 6 great nieces and one great-nephew. Nydeen is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, David Koob. Cards of condolence can be sent to Kelli Koob, 2100 33rd Ave. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418 Blessed be the memory of Nydeen Loma Koob. A graveside memorial service will take place at a later date in the Jeffers Cemetery in Jeffers, Minnesota.
