Ralph Eugene Robinson was born on April 12, 1921, in Great Bend Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to the late George T. and Edith (Weeks) Robinson. He was baptized at a young age and later confirmed at the First United Methodist Church in Windom. Ralph received his early education in String Lakes Country School and later graduated from the Windom Area High School in the Class of 1939. On February 11, 1944, Ralph was united in marriage to Ruth Orloske at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. After marriage, Ralph and Ruth lived in rural Windom, Dundee and Delft before moving to Windom in 1964. Through the years, Ralph farmed for many years before becoming a mail sorter at the United States Post Office in Windom. In 1987, he retired from the post office after twenty-two years of dedicated service. On Thursday morning, October 27, 2011, Ralph became suddenly ill and was taken to the Windom Area Hospital in Windom where he passed away a short time later at the age of 90 years. Ralph was a longtime, dedicated member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom where he served on the Board of Education, Evangelism and as an Elder. He also served his community as a 4-H Leader, State Guards and a FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer. Ralph had many enjoyments in life which included softball, hunting, fishing, trapping, a Minnesota sports fan, card games, Meals on Wheels, taking pride in his yard, he loved his church and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ralph is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Ruth Robinson of Windom; three children, Peggy (Rod) Rodningen of Oakes, ND; Jim (Sandy) Robinson of Windom; Wayne (Connie) Robinson of Windom; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister, George (Anne) Robinson of Windom; Audrey Jurgens of Windom; and several nieces and nephews. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Holt.
