Obituary

Randall John Riebe was born on October 3, 1967 in Duluth, Minnesota, to Linda Lou Omen. As a young mom, Linda decided to put Randy up for adoption. He was adopted by Lyle and Roberta Riebe, and their four daughters in October of 1968. The family was delighted to welcome their baby brother into the family. Randy grew up in Windom, hanging with his friends, playing t-ball, and fishing at the river. In high school he ran cross country and long distance in track. He also started a lifelong avocation as a drummer. He played the guitar, piano, and loved to sing. His hobbies included hiking, camping, fishing, biking, and skiing. He graduated from Windom Area High School in 1986. Following high school, he continued to pursue his hobbies, and lived and worked in various parts of the country including Hershey, PA; Minneapolis, MN; Canon City, CO; Seattle, WA; Bagley, MN; and most recently had returned to Windom to be closer to his parents. Randy turned his avocation as a musician into a business as he worked as a DJ for many years. When he came to Windom, he started Eagle Entertainment, performing light shows and DJ duties in many venues around the area. Randy passed away unexpectedly at his home in Windom on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the age of 53. Randy is survived by his parents, Lyle and Roberta Riebe; his fiancé, Mona Leach; his sisters Marty (Tim) Olsen of Luverne; Carol Bennett of Mesa, Arizona; Kitty (Willy) Wilson of Avon, Indiana; Janny Pryor of Canon City, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha and Perry Riebe, Ada Bernice and Harry Schneiter, and very recently, his birth mother Linda Lou Omen. Memorials are preferred to "the Equay Wiigamig" the women's shelter where Linda Lou Omen, Randy's birth mother worked.
