Richard Warren Haglund, 64, of Butterfield, Minnesota, passed peacefully and met His Savior on October 3, 2023, while vacationing in Arizona. With no warning, he was taken to heaven where he lives on and rejoices in the presence of Jesus.

Rich was born on July 27, 1959, to Warren and Pearl (Rettke) Haglund in Mt. Lake, MN. After he graduated from Butterfield-Odin High School in 1977, he began his lifelong career as a farmer and later became a salesman of corn and soybean seed.

When they were sixteen years old, Rich and Dee met and fell in love. On August 25, 1979, they were joined in marriage at the Butterfield Mennonite Church. They were blessed with three daughters and many, many special times together.

Rich was active in his church, serving in leadership roles on various boards and committees. He was also on the Butterfield-Odin school board for over a decade. Rich enjoyed watching his three girls–and then his grandkids–in their many activities, going on adventures with Dee, and making memories up north with family and friends. He also passed on his love of fishing and hunting to his girls and their families.

Rich cared deeply about his customers' success and enjoyed checking their many farms on crop tours. He was also known for his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone! Rich was eager to smile his big, toothy grin and loved talking on the phone with friends near and far. Throughout his life, he openly shared his faith, told stories, teased, and offered encouragement to those he encountered.

Rich is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dee, and their three girls: Mandy (T.J.) Brown of Good Thunder, MN; Karissa (Derek) Hall of Garden City, MN; and Lynsey (Cody) Fast of Bingham Lake, MN. Rich also leaves behind eight grandchildren who were his absolute pride and joy: Brielle, Chloe, and Keirsten Brown; Kylee, Samuel, and Asher Hall; and Charlie and Riley Richard Fast.

Other surviving family members include his siblings: Lanny (Johnelle) Haglund, Julene Hockel, Roxanne (Steve) Smith, Renee (Steve) Tierney, Debra (Dave) Korton, and Yvonne (Harlin) Rozeboom; Dee's siblings: Jane (Russ) Thomas, Jim Clipperton, and Ken (Julie) Clipperton; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, and brother-in-law Howard Hockel.

We stand in the truth of salvation and know we will see Rich again someday!
