Richard John
Majerus
Feb 29, 1952 — May 26, 2025
A Celebration of Life service to honor the life and legacy of Richard Majerus age 73, of Windom, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom on Saturday, June 28th, at 10:30 AM with a time of visitation and gathering from 9:30-10:30 AM.
The service will be livestreamed on the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center Facebook page.
Richard John Majerus was born on February 29, 1952, in Adrian, Minnesota, to the late Clarence and Johannah (Speeter) Majerus. He grew up in a close-knit community where he developed an appreciation for rural life and hard work.
Richard received his education at St. Adrian High School in Adrian, Minnesota where he was a member of the St. Adrian Catholic Church. He later moved to Windom and pursued various occupations throughout his life, including working in auto body and glass repair, manufacturing at TORO, and selling cars. In his free time, Rich enjoyed fishing, cheering for Minnesota sports teams, and the thrill of sprint car racing. His passion for autobody work developed further during his free time, as did his love for family camping trips along the scenic North Shore. Rich was often found driving around town with a Diet Coke in hand, talking with and meeting new people, and sharing jokes that brought smiles to those around him.
In 2020, Richard moved to the Good Samaritan Society in St. James. He continued living there until his health required hospitalization at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Mankato. It was there that he passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, at the age of 73 years.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Sykora of Windom and Chelsey (Mark) Van Wie of Eagan, as well as his six cherished grandchildren, Nate, Maddie, Aubree, Myles, Aiden, and Addie. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Muir (John) of Princeton, along with several other relatives and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
Blessed be the memory of Richard John Majerus.
