Robert Lee Rempel was born September 21, 1937, to Frank and Susie (Ewert) Rempel in Mountain Lake, Minnesota and grew up in the Bingham Lake and Delft areas. In his teen years, Robert suffered from Polio. He graduated from Mountain Lake Public School and went on to attend business school for one year in Mankato.

Bob worked for the Delft Elevator and Heron Lake Elevator for several years as a bookkeeper. He was then hired at the accounting firm, Johnson-Bottin, later Johnson, Tibodeau, Bottin & Co., P.S.C., and worked for over 30 years until retiring in 2020 at the age of 82.

On April 13, 1968, Robert married Kathryn Voth in Morden, Manitoba, Canada. Shortly after marriage, the couple moved to Mountain Lake and lived there until they moved to Windom in 1971. They adopted a baby girl, Suzanne, in 1972, and later that year had a son, Sheldon Lee, who passed away as an infant in November 1972. Kathryn battled cancer and passed away on September 19, 1998.

Robert was united in marriage to Ruth (Warner) Fetterley on May 16, 2009, at the Evangelical Free Church in Windom. After marriage, the couple continued to live in Windom, and Bob was blessed with two sons, Nathan and Matthew, while Ruth was blessed with a daughter, Suzanne.

Bob had many enjoyments in life, and topping the list included his family and grandchildren. He loved watching sports, especially professional football, and he closely followed the college basketball tournaments. Bob also enjoyed watching old westerns.

After a brief illness, Bob passed away at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Friday, July 5, 2024.

Left to cherish Bob's memory are his wife, Ruth Rempel of Windom; daughter, Suzanne (Christopher) Crawford of Highlands Ranch, CO; two stepsons, Matthew (Melissa) Fetterley of Ramsey, and Nathan (Liza) Fetterley of St. Cloud; three grandchildren, Jadon, Madeline and Ronen; siblings, Allan (Marlys) Rempel of Windom, Maxine (Warren) Pankonin of Sanborn, Merv (Betty) Rempel of Mountain Lake, Sandra (Lee) McAdams of Venus, TX; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Kathryn; son, Sheldon; and two infant siblings.

Blessed be the memory of Robert Rempel.
