A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Robert "Bob" Ringgenberg age 90, of Jackson, will be held January 7th, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the Union State Line Church in Petersburg, Minnesota. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #130 and VFW Post #900 of Jackson. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery in Petersburg Township. A reception will follow the burial at The American Legion Post #130 in Jackson.

A visitation for Bob will be held on Monday, January 6th, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the Union State Line Church in Petersburg for one hour prior to the service.

Robert passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2025.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial donations in memory of Bob are preferred to Union State Line Church.

Robert Emil Ringgenberg was born in Lakefield, Minnesota on September 12th, 1934, to Glen (Sam) Ringgenberg and Ebbie (Kolander) Ringgenberg.

Bob graduated from Jackson High School in 1952. In February of 1953, he married classmate Barbara Madson. Later that year he enlisted in the Army National Guard, serving until his honorable discharge in 1959.

During the early years of marriage, Bob and Barb lived in Jackson. In 1957, they moved to their first farm near Petersburg. During this time, Bob fulfilled his dream of becoming a farmer. He farmed the land as well as raised hogs. Never one to stay idle, Bob worked at various jobs in town. Any spare time was spent coaching the Petersburg school boys softball and basketball teams. Bob really enjoyed playing baseball with his dad as the coach. He also enjoyed golf, playing in couples and men's league in Jackson and Loon Lake. Many weekends Bob and Barb could be found on the dance floor enjoying dancing well into their 80's. Bob loved life he treasured his family, hosting family and friends at home was a special time; with Christmas being his favorite. He would laugh watching his grandkids and great-grandchildren playing, usually being the instigator. In 1990, Bob and Barb moved one more time into a home they designed together, just east of Petersburg. For a few years, they escaped the cold winter months to spend time in southern Texas.

As a longtime member of Union State Line Church, he served on the church council for many years. Barb and he took pride in mowing the lawn and maintaining the yard until his death.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 72 years, Barb; Daughter: Cindy (Doug) Ommodt and their children: Jennifer (Joe) Rudenick, Alison (Josh Erickson); Great-Grandchildren: Tim (Sarah), Sam (special friend, Emma), Lauren Rudenick, and Cody Erickson.

Also left to mourn his passing, Is his son: Curt (Deb) and their children: Andrea Schoenbaum, Kirsten (special friend, Grant) Ringgenberg, Jordan (special friend, Ursula) Ringgenberg and Jeremy Ringgenberg, great-grandchildren, Aubriella Zittritsch and Denton Schoenbaum, Raelyn Putman, Laila Putman, and Scarlett Swanson.

Bob and Barb were also very proud of their 12 godchildren.
