Robert "Bob" F. Stahl Jr.,87, of Minneapolis, formerly of Windom, died Jan. 31, 2020, at Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis. Robert "Bob" F. Stahl Jr. was born Sept. 17, 1932, to Robert Stahl Sr. and Donnabell Parker in Windom. Bob grew up in the Windom/Storden area, graduating from Storden High School in 1950. Bob went on to Mankato State Teachers College, University of Minnesota and West Point Prep School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 at Sheppard Air Force base in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1953, Bob married Louetta Marie Peacock of Windom. They raised five wonderful children: Patrick, Andrea, Michele, Maureen and Theresa in Wayzata. Bob's career included management and entrepreneurial endeavors. He served in management roles with ADC and Cirtech. In the early 1960s, he purchased Silliman Ford, changing the name to Bob Stahl Ford, which became Higley Ford in 1963. He moved to Minneapolis for management positions in manufacturing and co-ownership of Wheel Goods Corp. He went on to form Merrimac Associates, a financial consulting firm specializing in business consulting and bankruptcy turnarounds. Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge (Master Mason), American Legion, Kiwanis and Screen Actors Guild. He delighted in telling of his cameo appearance and that of his car in the movie "Fargo." Bob traveled to all 50 states and nine countries. He also has written hundreds of poems, collected antiques, glass, art and was a lifelong learner. In 1990, he moved to Windom to assist in the care of his mother, Donnabell, and stepfather, Woodrow Johnson. He spent the last six years in Minneapolis, spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louetta; and half-sister, Roberta Brandenberg. Survivors include his children: Patrick Stahl, Andrea (Tom) Kulju, Michele Stahl, Maureen (Craig) Yanta and Theresa (Rick) Longstrom; five grandchildren: Angela, Brett, Nicole, Shane, Kyle; sister, Roxanne (Jack) Potter; brother, Chris (Donna) Johnson; and half-sister, Jacqueline Yoder.
