A Celebration of Life Visitation for Roberta Duroe, age 91, of Jeffers, will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom. A private family burial will be held later in the Jeffers Cemetery.

Roberta "Berta" Rae (Davis) Duroe was born on October 2, 1934, in Springfield, Minnesota, to Clarence and Clara (Moody) Davis. She attended Sanborn Public School and graduated in 1952. Berta was an active and devoted member of Jeffers United Methodist Church. Along with her daughter and granddaughter, she was baptized in Double Lake, a statement of her salvation by grace through faith in Jesus' death and resurrection.

On August 29, 1952, Roberta was united in marriage to Collingwood Rodney Duroe, Jr. at the Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with six children: Page, Coll, Wade, Morgen, Cody, and Cade. The couple made their home in Jeffers, where they lovingly raised their family.

Berta treasured time spent with her family and her horses. She enjoyed taking long walks and admiring the beauty of nature. Friends and loved ones knew they could always count on her for a caring, listening ear and steadfast support. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. One of Berta's greatest enjoyments in life were her mission trips, which included numerous Mexico trips, Turkey after the 1999 earthquake, Romania and Armenia where she helped with putting wheelchairs together and cleaning a Caribbean Mercy Hospital Ship while docked in Atlanta, Georgia.

Throughout her life, Berta faithfully served her community in many ways. She worked as a school bus driver and was a dedicated member of the Jeffers EMT. She also served on the Jeffers City Council, was a member of the Public-School Board, and volunteered with local blood drives.

On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Roberta passed away peacefully at Golden Horizons in Worthington, Minnesota.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Page (Dana Wallace) Kern; Wade (Lori) Duroe; Morgen (Jeff) Pederson; Cody (Lisa) Duroe; and Cade Duroe; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Collingwood Rodney Duroe, Jr.; her son, Collingwood Rodney Duroe, III; her parents, Clarence and Clara; siblings, Warren, Elmer, Marilyn, Patricia and Marjorie; as well as her beloved horses, cats, and her dog, Pal.
