Roger Thomas Richardson, Sr. was born on February 22, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Roger and Julianne (Wallen) Richardson. He graduated from Benilde Catholic High School in 1965. After high school, Roger enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was a Staff Sargent and while serving in the military he attended Aircraft Technical School in Texas. On April 26, 1969, Roger was united in marriage to Loretta (Merritt) Richardson. This marriage was blessed with three sons, Roger Jr., Matthew and Christopher. After their marriage Roger and Loretta lived in many different places as Roger was a grain inspector for the State of Minnesota-Department of Agriculture for Cargill. He retired in 2010 after forty-three years of service. Roger passed away on Friday afternoon, May 1, 2015, at the Windom Area Hospital, as a result of an automobile accident, at the age of 68. Roger was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom where he was active as a lector, usher, Eucharistic minister, and also the Knights of Columbus. He was a board member of Windom Prairie Arts Continuum Community Theater. Roger will be remembered for his love of singing, acting, model trains, fishing and woodworking. He also enjoyed running the Observatory Club at the Mets Center. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Richardson of Windom; three sons, Roger T. (Kris) Richardson, Jr. of Hopkins, Matthew Richardson and Christopher Richardson, both of Windom; six grandchildren, Ian Thomas Richardson, O'Shae Richardson, Jordan Richardson, Tyler Daniel Richardson, Emelia Kristine Richardson and Michael John Richardson; nine siblings, David (Nhu) Richardson of Monticello, Pauline (Robert) Rodger of Bloomington, Reuben (Karen) Richardson of Minneapolis, Marie (Bill) Windhorst of Eden Prairie, Anne Richardson of Mankato, Julie (Mark) Switzer of Apple Valley, John (Pam) Richardson of Eagan, Joseph (Dawn) Richardson of Fishers, IN, and James (Lynne) Richardson of Alexandria; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
