Ronald Allan Vought was born May 21, 1945, to the late W. Donald and Meta (Reimers) Vought, in Windom, Minnesota. Through the years Ronald had many nicknames, including Ron, Ronnie, and RV. Ron was baptized and confirmed at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. As a child, he attended Vought Rural School House in Springfield Township, and then he continued his secondary education at Jeffers and Windom Public Schools. He graduated from Windom High School with the class of 1963. Ron earned an associate degree from Jackson Vocational & Technical College.

Ronnie married Carol Jacobson on January 20, 1968, at the American Lutheran Church in Windom. The couple raised and loved two sons, Mike and Joey, along with their foster son, Steve Riordan. Ron was self-employed all of his life; he farmed and owned Diamond "V" Sandblasting & Painting.

Ron loved playing ball in his younger years, especially wallyball at the Windom Arena. He was passionate about farming, raising calves and making corn mazes. He also enjoyed gardening and mowing. Ronnie had a fleet of John Deere equipment, and he enjoyed owning classic cars. He had many collections, including baseball cards, hay bale hooks, and sledgehammers. RV looked forward to going to the monthly sale auctions in Storden.

Ron was a longtime, dedicated member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom, where he served on the Properties Board and ushered for 25 years. Ronnie served on the Dale Township Board.

On November 28th, Ron passed away at Windom Area Health in Windom, Minnesota.

Left to cherish Ronnie's memory are his wife of 54 years, Carol Vought of Windom; two sons, Mike (Cindy) Vought of Moorhead and Joey (fiancé, Jackie Mau) Vought of Windom; foster son, Steve (Michele) Riordan of Windom; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Colleen and Matthew Vought, Keagan Hofferbert, and Jagar & Ryder Riordan; sister, Marlene (Lou) Hubbs; mother-in-law, Lorraine Jacobson; brother-in-law, Jake Jacobson; in-laws, John (Judy) Holt; niece, Annette (Jimmy) Vought Ballard; as well as nephews, many relatives and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Don & Meta Vought; brother, Jerry (Beverly) Vought; and sister-in-law, Annette Jacobson.

A Celebration of Life Service for Ronald "RV" Vought, age 77, of Windom, will be held Sunday, December 4th at 2:00 P.M. at the American Lutheran Church in Windom, with Pastor Adam Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.

A time of visitation and gathering will be held Saturday, December 3rd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom.
