Rosalee Dawn Vind was born February 17, 1949, to Wallace and Carol (Powelson) Lyng in Madison, Minnesota. Rosalee was baptized at a young age at Oak Hill Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. Rosalee attended Westwood Elementary in Burnsville and Burnsville High School, graduating in the class of 1967. She continued her post-secondary education at Augsburg College and earned a degree in Education.
On June 29, 1973, Rosalee was joined in marriage to Carl M. Vind. The marriage was blessed with four children, Carl H., Marcus, Danielle and Tamryn, as well as one stepson, Jason Vind. The family lived in Jeffers and Rosalee taught second grade at Storden Jeffers/Red Rock Central School District for many years. Rosalee and Carl were married for 24 years, until Carl's passing in August 1997. Rosalee then moved to Windom in 2003 with her special friend, Willis Booze. Rosalee and Willis loved singing karaoke and spending time with family and friends. Willis passed away in 2005.
Rosalee enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also liked to fish, take drives to the lake, play bingo at Hardees & McDonalds, play games with friends, and go out to eat.
Rosalee Vind passed away at the age 73, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
Rosalee is survived by her mother, Carol Lyng; three children, Marcus (Rachel) Vind of Shelton, WA, Danielle Vind of North Mankato, MN, Tamryn Vind of Windom, MN; one stepson, Jason Vind; six grandchildren, Christian, Kobe, Carly, Marky, Ainsley, and Josie; two great-grandchildren, Kiara and Amira; three siblings, Paula Melcher, Sydney (Bill) Blount, and Steven (Vickie) Lyng, as well as many relatives and friends.
Rosalee was preceded in death by her husband, Carl M. Vind; father, Wallace Lyng; son, Carl H. Vind; and in-laws, Harold and Evelyn Vind.

A Celebration of Life Service for Rosalee Dawn Vind age 73, of Windom, formally of Jeffers, will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 29th at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers with Pastor Jennifer Bennet officiating. Burial will follow at Jeffers Cemetery in Jeffers, MN.
A time of visitation and gathering will be held on Friday, October 28th 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers.
