Roseann Grace Peters was born on March 23, 1965 at the Windom Area Hospital to Theodore "Ted" and Grace (Derksen) Peters. She was baptized on August 10, 1980. She received her education from Mountain Lake Public High School where she graduated with the Class of 1984. Roseann began her career working for people with disabilities in 1984 at Home for Creative Living. She moved to New York and experienced life as a nanny. When Roseann returned to Minnesota, she again started to support people with disabilities by working for Windom CRF (now known as RAI) in 1991 along with working at an H.S.I. site for 4 individuals. At the same time Roseann worked at COR (Community Options and Resources). When the individuals she supported at COR transferred to H.S.I., Roseann made the transition with them. For many years she worked at two sites, supporting 8 individuals. Roseann touched the lives of many people through the years. Roseann helped the people she supported go on many small trips to enjoy the things they liked. When pictures were needed to be taken, Roseann was the person to ask. She enjoyed capturing the moments with pictures (as that meant she couldn't be in the picture). Roseann continued to work for H.S.I. until June 2013 when her battle with cancer prevented her from being able to continue her career. Roseann was very dedicated to the people she supported. She worked every weekend throughout all her working years. No matter what she was experiencing Roseann took great pride in helping the individuals. Roseann had attended the Carson Mennonite Brethren Church in Delft for many years. When it closed she began attending the Windom Evangelical Free Church where she was active in several bible studies and in Women's Ministry Event planning. As a child of God, she was a living testimony to those in her realm of influence. Roseann enjoyed sewing, photography and reading, especially her Bible. She will be remembered for being crafty and creative. She is survived by her father, Ted Peters of Windom; one brother, Roger Peters and his wife, Joise, of Tracy; one sister, Mary Jane Peters of Denver, CO; and many cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Peters and grandparents, Henry H. and Marie Peters. Blessed be the memory of Roseann "Rosie" Peters.
