A Celebration of Life Visitation for Scott Kern, age 67, of Jackson, will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, at 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson.

Scott Kevin Kern was born to the late Murial Kern on December 13, 1956, at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. He was baptized into the Christian Faith at the United Methodist Church in Duluth on April 18, 1960. He was later confirmed on June 4, 1972. He attended public school and graduated from Bertha Hewitt High School with the class of 1975. In high school he was a talented athlete, lettering in many sports. He was an active member of FFA.

On October 02, 1985, Scott began working for the Minnesota Department of Transportation as an Inspector. He enjoyed his lifelong career there, retiring on November 02, 2023, after 38 years. He was honored with many awards in his profession.

Scott was united in marriage to the love of his life, Diane on April 16, 2016. Some of the best times of Scott's life was hanging out with his family and friends. He loved spending time hunting and fishing. His favorite vacation spot was soaking in the warm sunshine in Mexico.

Scott passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Monday, March 25, 2024, in his home in Jackson, Minnesota.

Scott is survived by his wife, Diane Kern of Jackson; children, Natalie (Justin) Meyers of Minneapolis and Shawn Cary of California; step-sons, Justin (Michell) Johnson of Windom and Jordan Johnson of Jackson; five grandchildren; relatives, Sharon Kern, Billy Kern and Dixie, Nancy (Layle) French, Markie (Linda) Styron, Kelly (Jeff) Toms, and Mitchell Styron; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Murial Kern; grandparents, William and Mildren (Fox) Kern; relatives, Duane Kern, Jean (Bob) Bottemiller, and Kalani Parker.
