A time of visitation and gathering to Celebrate the Life of Sharon Junker, age 81, of Windom, formerly of Jeffers, will be held Saturday, October 28th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom.
Sharon Mae (Taylor) Junker was born on March 17, 1942, in Windom, Minnesota, to Sherman and Nona (Haworth) Taylor. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Sharon's primary school education began at Country School in Dale Township, Cottonwood County, and she continued her education at Jeffers High School. On August 18, 1959, Sharon was united in marriage to William "Bill" Junker, Jr. Together they raised three children, Roger, Karen, and Mike.
She dedicated herself to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and loving home environment for her family. Sharon's culinary skills were also put to good use as a school cook, where she nourished the minds and bodies of students. Additionally, she worked at the Jeffer's Café, where her friendly demeanor and hard work made her a valued member of the team.
Sharon had a passion for creativity and craftsmanship. She was known for her beautiful embroidery pieces, which she generously shared with others as heartfelt gifts. Sharon also found joy in Paint by Numbers projects and other crafts, using her artistic talents to bring beauty into the world.
On October 21, 2023, Sharon passed away peacefully, at the age of 81, at the Good Samaritan Society- Sogge Memorial in Windom, Minnesota.
Left to cherish Sharon's memory are her children, Roger Junker (special friend, Melanie) of Willmar, Karen (Randy) VanKlompenburg of Willmar, and Mike (Heidi) Junker of Windom; four grandchildren, Alan Junker, Andy Junker, McCoy VanKlompenburg and Nash VanKlompenburg; sisters, Barb Torkelson and Bonnie Hanish; Sister-in-law, Jan Raverty; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Junker, Jr.; parents, Sherm and Nona Taylor; parents-in-law, Esther and William Junker, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Russell Hanish, Tom Raverty, and Jerry Torkelson.
Sharon Mae Junker leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and creativity. Her memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones and all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
The family of Sharon Junker would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff at the Good Samaritan Society- Sogge Memorial and Avera Hospice for the care and kindness they offered.
