Shirley Ann Paden was born on July 16, 1944, in Mankato, Minnesota to the late Clarence and Edith (Horkey) Morphew. She was baptized at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal on November 8, 1944. On December 14, 1963, Shirley was united in marriage to Charles Paden in Fulda, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Sandy, Jon, Deb and Heather. Through the years, Shirley and Charles lived in South Dakota and Minnesota. Shirley attended school to become a beautician. She owned her own business called the Main Attraction. She later worked at Shopko/Pamida where she enjoyed serving the public. Shirley enjoyed and was talented at sewing and crafting. She loved working on puzzles, reading, gardening, flowers, and bird watching. Recently, Shirley began experiencing heart issues and was hospitalized at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was later transferred to Windom Area Health where she passed away in the presence of her loved ones on Monday, April 26 ,2021 at the age of 76 years. Shirley is survived by her four children, Sandy Carpentier of Windom; Jon Paden of Windom; Deb (Les) McElhany of Watertown, SD; Heather (Josh) Zuehlke of Okabena; 8 grandchildren, Lindsey, Matt, Mariah, Hannah, Emily, Tim, Jake and Dillon; 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis (Kris) Morphew of Trosky; Dan (Kathy) Morphew of Windom; and several nieces and nephews. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Paden of Windom; and one brother, Roger Morphew. A Celebration of Life Service for Shirley Paden, age 76 of Windom, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at the LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom, with Pastor Adam Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the LaCanne Family Funeral Service Facebook page. Masks will be required to attend services at the LaCanne Family Funeral Home and social distancing guidelines should be followed.
