Stanley George Ware was born in Windom, Minnesota on December 10, 1942 to the late Harold L. and Elsie (Kaderabek) Ware. He attended Windom Public schools and entered the Army in 1964 and served honorably for two years, part of it in Vietnam in the 509th Engineer Company and the infantry. He returned to Windom in 1966. Stanley then began working for Windom Plumbing and Heating, later becoming a member of Local 561 Plumbers and Steam Filters of Mankato and traveled to various construction jobs. In 1968, Stanley was united in marriage to Susan Pfeiffer. In 1974, they moved to their little farm by Westbrook where they raised two sons, Ryan and Justin. Stanley enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life. In 1985, he started his own gunsmithing business on their farm. He soon became very well known for his high-quality gun work in which he took tremendous pride and was a perfectionist at it. Besides repairing guns, he built many custom rifles and participated in bench rest shooting. He continued this work until retiring in 2014. Stanley loved being on the farm and in his shop where there was always a "project" of some kind in the works. Stanley's health began to slowly go downhill around 2016. On February 15, 2021, he became very ill and spent the next month in Sioux Falls at the hospital. He was then transferred to hospice in Windom, where he passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the age of 78 years of age. Left to cherish Stanley's memory include his wife of 52 years, Susan Ware of Westbrook; son, Ryan (Jennifer) Ware of Chaska; granddaughter, Jessica Ware of Chaska; two sisters, Betty Erickson of Elk River and Shirley Ware of Windom; several nieces and nephews and his special dog, Murphy. Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Justin and sister, Donna.
