Steven James Jurgens was born August 12, 1965 in Windom, MN to the late Dale and Beverly (Doherty) Jurgens. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom and graduated from Windom Area High School in 1984.

Steve's love of nature was nurtured by the time spent with his father and brothers in the early mornings of hunting season. Those times provided special memories that lasted throughout his life. In more recent years he enjoyed tent camping with Beth and the hobbies of kayaking, fishing, metal detecting, magnet fishing and target shooting , most often with friend Matt Richardson.

Steve worked for some time at Toro and most recently at Runnings in Windom. The work that most fulfilled his purpose was with his brother, Alan in Alan's business Jurgens Construction. He was so proud of what the two of them accomplished together.

Steve Jurgens, age 60, of Windom passed away peacefully on Sunday October 26, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Those who will hold Steve in their heart forever include his son , Joshua Higley of Atlanta, GA, his siblings, Janis (Sis) and Jim O'Neil of Faribault, Alan and Peggy Jurgens, Dean Jurgens and Diane Hohbach; sister-in-law, Judi Jurgens; his life partner, Beth Lund all of Windom, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Delwin Jurgens.

He left his life well loved by his family and dear friends. That is so much to hope and be thankful for.

In accordance with Steve's wishes, there will be no services.
