Theoline "Teddy" Stoffregen, age 81, of Windom passed peacefully at home with her soul mate of 54 years at her side. We are sad to share that our wife, Mom, Grandma and Nana lost her 10+ year battle with Alzheimer's on June 11, 2024.

Theoline grew up in a large Norwegian-Lutheran family in Goodhue County. As the fifth of six children of Henry and Anna Quamme, she was fondly called "Sister" by her four brothers, neighbors, and extended family until one of her older siblings decided she should have a proper nickname. From that moment on, she was Teddy.

Teddy attended Kenyon Public School, was honored as the homecoming queen, the majorette of the marching band, and graduate of the Class of 1961. With her love of all things Norwegian, music and Lutheran, she attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Golden Valley, needing more Norwegian to her education she transferred to Waldorf College in Forest City earning her associate's degree. To fund her education, Teddy and her college roommate spent a summer working in Juneau Alaska. With the encouragement of her mother, Teddy pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She had the great honor to conduct her student teaching in Mexico for the children of the US Embassy staff. Teddy was an elementary school teacher for 40 years.

Teddy's educational tour pales in comparison to her European and Scandinavian travels. There is family lore of her VW Beetle purchase in Cloppenburg, West Germany, the driving adventures had in Europe, to the ocean transport of the car to the US to be picked up by Teddy and her mom in the ports of south Chicago!

In 1970, Teddy's adventures took a new direction when she met Mike. They were married for 53 years, and had a beautiful family highlighted by their five favorite grandkids. During their marriage Teddy and Mike served as club leaders for the Windom Workers 4-H Club and were honored with the Cottonwood County Friend of 4-H Award in 2001. She also volunteered for the Windom figure skating annual show, was the Sunday School music director, and spent her free time tending to her plants and flowers.

Teddy is survived by her husband, Mike; daughter Tonia (Garrett) Weber; son, Brandon, (Katie) Stoffregen; grandchildren Ana, Cole, Greta, Dylan and Vaughn; brothers, Ben Quamme and Howard Quamme; and many generations of nieces and nephews.
