Troy Hartley Ackerman, the son of Stanley and Karen (Jurgensen) Ackerman, was born October 7, 1966, in Hartley, Iowa. He spent his childhood years in Harris and Ocheydan, Iowa areas before the family moved to Bakersfield, California where Troy continued his education. Following high school, Troy worked in the oilfields around Bakersfield. He moved back to Iowa in 1993 and was employed at Tanks in Sheldon, Iowa for 10 years, and Sunrise Farms for 12 years. Eventually, he settled in Round Lake, Minnesota where for the next four years, he worked at Seven Hills Dairy until his health declined. On March 8, 1994, Troy was united in marriage to Jackie Tacker in Sanborn, Iowa. Troy's family remembers him as the quiet type who loved spending time with his brother, Stan, and his daughters, Rose and Destiny. Troy passed from this life on Friday, March 4, 2022, in Windom, Minnesota. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jackie; children: Lola and her husband, Gene Rust of Sibley, Iowa, Rose and Destiny Ackerman of Round Lake, Minnesota; brothers: Todd and his wife, Sue Ackerman of Ocheydan, Iowa and Stan Ackerman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; sisters: Becky and her husband, David Heitritter of Melvin, Iowa, and Brenda Cammann of Sanborn, Iowa; his stepfather, Marvin and his wife, Shirley Timmons of Wilmar, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Preceding him in death were his mother and father, Stan and Karen Ackerman; his grandparents; and on brother-in—law, Barry Cammann.
