Troy John Fast was born on March 20, 1969, to Norman and Barbara (Runge) Fast in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. He was baptized in 1969 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. When Troy was 10 years old, he moved from Mountain Lake to the Home For Creative Living in Windom, Minnesota, where he lived until his passing. He attended grade school and high school in Windom.

Troy used his gifts and talents working for more than 40 years at the Developmental Achievement Centers, more commonly known as the DAC, in Delft and Windom. He would help weave rugs, and he enjoyed just spending time there with friends.

Troy passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Troy is survived by his parents, Norman and Barbara Fast of Wabasha, MN; siblings, Michelle (Jason) Derkson of Brookings, SD, and Jennifer (Grant) Wigmore of Reno, NV; nieces and nephews, Krystal Fast of Rochester, MN, Will Wigmore of Reno, NV, Paige Wigmore of Reno, NV, and Courtney Wigmore of Reno, NV.

Troy was preceded in death by his grandparents.
