Viola ("Vi") Brosz Konrad was born on January 11, 1922 in Tripp, SD to the late Daniel L. and Christine (Weidenbach) Brosz. She attended rural school in South Dakota and graduated from Scotland South Dakota High School in 1939.
Vi was united in marriage to Aaron P. Konrad on December 17, 1939 and moved to Windom, Minnesota in the winter of 1947. Vi and Aaron were married for over 70 years, raising five children.
As a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Vi was active for many years as a Deacon and in the Presbyterian Women's (Circle) Groups. She enjoyed the several trips with other ladies in the Women's Circle, as well as fellowship with so many other church members.
In addition, Vi enjoyed cooking and baking, especially keeping many of her mother's recipes within the family. Vi enjoyed camping and fishing trips with her family to various areas in Minnesota and South Dakota, and also Alaska, Washington, Oregon and California. During her working years, Vi worked at various locations in the Windom area. One of her favorites was years she worked at the Windom High School cafeteria.
Vi passed away peacefully on January 15, 2020 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home where she has been a resident since 2009.
Vi is survived by her five children: Roger of Gilbert; AZ; Rita (John) Stotka of Langlois, OR; Sandra (Jack) Rollins of Portland, OR; Randy (Chris) of Haines, AK and Kim (Tim) Hogan of San Marcos, CA. Vi is survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Vi is preceded in death by infant son, Ronald; her parents; her husband, Aaron; sister, Elsie; brother, Elton; and daughter-in-law, Darlene Konrad.
