A Celebration of Life Service for Virginia "Gini" Galle, age 97, of Karlstad, formerly of Windom, will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Windom, on Wednesday, April 15th at 11:00 AM, with a time of visitation and gathering from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will be held on Thursday, April 16th at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Virginia Louise "Gini" (Bollman) Galle was born on January 31, 1929, in Delta, Ohio, to Floyd Otto and Marjorie Louise (Fashbaugh) Bollman. She was baptized as an infant in Delta and lived there until 1938, when her family moved to Neenah, Wisconsin, and later to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Gini was confirmed in 1941 at First Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. She graduated from Neenah High School in 1947 and continued her education at the University of Minnesota School of Pharmacy, where she met John Galle.

Virginia and John were united in marriage on September 30, 1950, at Westminster Presbyterian Chapel in Minneapolis. In 1953, they made their home in Windom, Minnesota, where they raised their three children, John Jr., Jeffrey, and Maren. Gini took great pride in being a homemaker and devoted mother. She also worked as a clerk in high school and later as a bookkeeper and clerk at Ben Franklin in Windom. Throughout her 97 years, she found her greatest joy in her family and was a constant source of encouragement to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A faithful and active member of First Presbyterian Church, Gini shared her time and talents in many ways. She served as an Elder, lay preacher, choir member, and Sunday School teacher, and held leadership roles including Moderator of Presbyterian Women and service on the Minnesota Valleys Presbytery Council. Her commitment extended into the community, where she volunteered with Adult Basic Education, ESL programs, and the Good Samaritan Society. She and her husband, John, were regional representatives of the Youth for Understanding Foreign Exchange Program. They hosted several students themselves from various countries and helped place students with families within the area. She was also active as a Cub Scout Den Mother and held leadership roles in organizations including the Jaycees, Tourist Club, and Eastern Star (Arbutus Chapter 169), where she served as Matron, Secretary, and later as President of the Minnesota Secretaries of O.E.S. In her free time, Gini enjoyed bowling and spending time with others.

Following John's passing on February 4, 2015, Virginia moved to be closer to her family. She eventually made her home at Karlstad Senior Living, where she was called to her heavenly home, on March 26, 2026, at the age of 97 years.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, John L. Galle Jr. of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jeffrey Galle (Shelley) of Warroad, and Maren [Swingen] Staley (John) of East Grand Forks; her grandchildren, John L. Galle III (Stacey), Thomas Galle, Jeffrey "JJ" Galle Jr. (Alisha), Kyle Galle (Corrine), Bryce Galle, Kellie Swingen, and Alex Swingen (Jill); her great-grandchildren, Sophia, James, Stella, Breeley, Mirenna, Aveda, Bryndle, Elliott, Charles, Raymond, and one on the way; along with other relatives and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John Galle Sr.; her parents, Floyd and Marjorie; and her sister, Beverly Boydstun (Charles).
