Warren E. Beihoffer, the son of Inez Hamann Beihoffer and George LeRoy Beihoffer was born on January 31, 1922 on a farm west of Hutchinson, Minnesota. His family later moved to Buffalo Lake, Hutchinson, and Gaylord, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Congregational Church in Hutchinson. Warren attended elementary school in Hutchinson and high school in Gaylord, where he graduated in 1940. On January 25, 1943, Warren enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served in World War II and was honorably discharged on May 18, 1946. After returning home, Warren attended electrical school at Dunwoody Industrial Institution. In 1949, he became employed by Hiebert Electric in Windom, where he worked for thirty-seven years. In 1950, Warren married Dorothy Engesather at the Lutheran Church in Petersburg, North Dakota. That same year, the couple moved to Windom, where they built a home and lived all their married life. Warren retired in 1987 and, for eleven years, he and Dorothy spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona. After 1998, Warren and Dorothy remained in Windom year round. Dorothy passed away on March 4, 2010. After her death, Warren continued to live at home until moving into the Good Samaritan Society – Sogge Memorial Home in Windom in November of 2014. He passed away there on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the age of 93. Warren was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Windom, where he served on many boards and sang in the choir. He joined the Masonic Lodge in 1955 and served as the Worshipful Master in 1975. He was also a member of the Windom American Legion. Warren enjoyed playing cribbage and watching the Minnesota Twins. He loved to go camping and he and Dorothy were members of several camping clubs. Warren and Dorothy also enjoyed going to the Bemidji area for family vacations, where Warren loved to fish. Warren is survived by two sons, Thomas and his wife, Denise Beihoffer, of Arlington Heights, IL; Steven Beihoffer, of Windom; three grandchildren, Kristina, Sean and Alex Beihoffer; two brothers, Dale Beihoffer of Aitkin and Lowell Beihoffer of Becker; two sisters, Dorothy Heuer of Colusa, CA and Virginia Simondet of Mound; twenty nieces and nephews and other relatives. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Beihoffer; and his sister, Lois Poquette.
