Wayne Allen Antes was born on October 8, 1954, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to Dale and Nina (Auge) Antes. Wayne lived his childhood years in Kenosha, Wisconsin and received his early education there at McKinley before attending the Mary D. Bradford School. Wayne then enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in South Korea at the end of the Vietnam War.
On February 9, 1990, Wayne was united in marriage to Julienne Anita Ward at the courthouse and on August 18, 1990, at the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora, Illinois. After marriage, they made their home in Montgomery, Illinois before moving to Windom in 1999 until the present time. Wayne was a Transportation Specialist for forty-five years until retiring on January 13, 2022. Wayne's first load out was in 1977. He leased onto Tiesler Trucking of Fulda on February 20, 2004. Wayne loved his family deeply and had many enjoyments in life which included football-he was an avid Packers Fan, motorcycle riding with many trips to Sturgis, fishing, golfing, NASCAR and many vacations abroad with his loving wife.
Recently, Wayne's health began to decline, and he was hospitalized at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on Saturday, February 26th, 2022, at the age of 67 years.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Julienne Antes of Windom; five children, Stephanie (Chris) Johnson of Excelsior; Anthony (Sarah) Antes of Moorhead; Danielle (Kyle) Dorobiala of Sioux Falls, SD; Janelle Antes of Sioux Falls, SD; Kyle Antes of Chanhassen; 7 grandchildren, Ethan, Carter, Haley, Nolan, Lincoln, Theodore and Baby Olivia Dorobiala on the way; siblings, Terry (Gary) Smith of Kenosha, WI; Rick (Robin) Antes of Panama City, FL; Debbie (Sam) Lamport of Adkins, TX; Gina (Duke) Mordja of Salem, WI; John (Lori) Antes of Anderson, TX; Dave (Maria) Farber of Windom; Deb (Chad) Blank of Augusta, KS; Krestin Farber of Windom; John (Julie) Farber of Lakefield.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Nina Antes and Robert and Bev Farber; and one brother, Dale Antes.

A Celebration of Life Service for Wayne Antes, age 67 of Windom, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 12th, 2022, at the Gathering Church in Bingham Lake with Pastor Randy Shideler officiating. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #206 following the service outside the church. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11th, 2022, at 4:00 PM ~ 7:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom.
Wayne Antes passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Julienne, by his side on Saturday, February 26th, 2022, at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
