Obituary

Wesley "Wes" Wane Myers, age 64, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at CentraCare in Redwood Falls.

Wes Myers was born on December 9, 1958, to Paul and Mary Louise (Burnett) Myers in Tribune, Kansas. Wes attended Greeley County Schools and graduated in 1977.

Wes met the love of his life, Juanita "Nita" Padilla in 1985, and they were later united in marriage on May 14, 1994, in Howard, Colorado.

Wes found joy in the world of coin collecting, where he tirelessly bought and sold rare pieces that held historical significance. Wes cherished his time with Nita, and they loved watching Old Westerns together. Trap shooting was another hobby that brought Wes great pleasure and went hand in hand with his love of hunting.

A day spent fishing with Nita, Lanee, and Trevor, would always be one of Wes' favorite days, as he enjoyed the company of his family and the quiet peacefulness of the water. He also treasured the time he was able to spend with Trevor tinkering in the garage or making things look nice out in the yard. His daily phone call with his daughter, Lanee, was a cherished part of his day that kept the two close and allowed them to share their joys, challenges, and support for one another. Wes also loved playing in the yard with his granddog, Wilbee, and always enjoyed sneaking him scraps from the table.

Wes will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Nita Myers; daughters, Lanee (Trevor) Hall, Lisa Myers, and Laura Myers; eight grandchildren, and one on the way; father, Paul Myers; siblings, Susan Kail and Andrew (Jacque) Myers; mother-in-law, Pat Padilla; sisters-in-law, Denise (Gene) Colburn and Annette Yeatts Blann; and other friends and relatives.

Wes was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise, who passed away in 2014; brother, Kent L. Myers, who passed away in 1957; two infant grandchildren; father-in-law, Johnny Padilla; brothers-in-law, Leslie A. Kail and Earnie Padilla; and sister-in-law, Val Bertrand.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.
