Wilma Rose
Tasler
Feb 17, 1942 — Feb 5, 2024
A Celebration of Life Service for Wilma Tasler, age 81, of Windom, will be held on Friday, February 9th at 10:30 AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, with Pastor Paul Sajban officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
A time of visitation and gathering will be held for one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom.
Wilma Rose (Bloch) Tasler was born on February 17, 1942, to the late William Bloch and Grace (Leseman) Haugen, in Tracy, Minnesota. Wilma was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. The family lived in Westbrook, Minnesota, where Wilma attended and graduated from Westbrook High School.
On September 30, 1961, Wilma was united in marriage to Fredrick "Fritz" Tasler. The marriage was blessed with two children, Steven and Colleen. Wilma was a homemaker and happily raised her children. She became an Avon Lady and retired after more than 40 years. Wilma successfully grew her business to more than 400 customers, and she had a knack for remembering every customer's phone number.
As a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, Wilma sang in the church choir for many years and served on several church committees, including the finance committee. Wilma took pride in her home, and you definitely knew you were welcome when you visited the Taslers because she always had at least 50 welcome signs displayed throughout it. Wilma collected trees and decorated the whole house with them. She also enjoyed caring for the garden, and she participated in a bowling league for many years.
Left to cherish Wilma's memory, are her daughter, Colleen (Mike) Arneson of Panora, IA; three grandchildren, Jessica (Ethan) Baumgartner of Omaha, NE, Jacob Arneson of Ames, IA, and Emma Tasler of Chicago, IL; one great-granddaughter, Eva Baumgartner; and her friend, Ron Flatgard; as well as many relatives and friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick "Fritz" Tasler; son, Steven Tasler; parents, William Bloch and Grace Haugen; and brother Wally Bloch.
Blessed be the memory of Wilma Tasler.
